Association Les Ateliers de l'Audace
Les Ateliers de l’Audace is a workshop that repairs and sells second-hand bicycles, which hires people having difficulty accessing the job market. It works to promote workplace insertion and to fight social isolation by providing training on jobs in the bicycle sector.
“If there’s one thing we can’t have missing from our lives, it is daring; we never stop innovating to create more solidarity,”
Priscillia Petitjean, the association’s director.
She decided to create the association in 2020, on the basis of two observations:
- Bicycles are a means of creating social contact, enabling individuals to access work and be a part of society;
- The situation regarding waste management in the bicycle industry is catastrophic, whereas they could provide a wealth of resources.
Les Ateliers de l’Audace offers to purchase reconditioned bicycles, repair bicycles and sell related objects created using bicycle spare parts.
In 2021, in recognition of their engagement in the circular economy, the association was awarded a ‘contrat à impact social’ (social-impact contract) by ADEME (the French Agency for Ecological Transition), dedicated to organisations in the Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE).
